If you had laser hair removal years ago, you might be pleasantly surprised to find out how far the technology has come. Once upon a time, it would take an hour to do a man’s back- and he would be nearly in tears from the pain!
We are so happy to say the technology has come a long way since then. With older technology, we’d sometimes hear “I can’t come back!” But now, what once took up to an hour takes around 10-15 minutes for your session and it does not hurt!
Of course, everyone’s pain tolerance is different. Some people compare laser hair removal to the sensation of being snapped by a rubber band. While that sounds like it could sting a bit, we use a cooling gel to help prepare the skin for treatment, and the laser has a cooling tip which makes the treatment virtually pain-free!
Some patients feel a sensation similar to a pinprick during the procedure, however, most patients will feel very little or even nothing at all! Immediately following treatments, the treated area may appear mildly sunburn or irritated. This generally improves within a day or two.
